The ash forests on the edge of The Ashfall Waste are his domain. For centuries he ruled over his kingdom, surrounded by friends and those he ruled yet he felt alone.His family had gone and he would outlive his companions due to his fairy magic. With the change of the seasons he would travel throughout his realm checking on all that lived under him.

It was during his spring time journey that he met his Pearl.

Night was drawing near and his traveling group had decided to find a place to rest for the night. A storm was brewing and their travels brought them near the place that the forrest met the sea. In his search for safe shelter he heard a voice call out a warning to him. The trees near the water had grown lazy and their roots were weak, not nearly strong enough to endure the winds from the storm.

The voice was all the warning he had before a great tree fell towards one of the younger members of his group. He raced towards them but saw that he would not make it in time. Just as all seemed lost and that the young one would be gravely injured he saw a being emerge from the storm.

With a grace that rivaled the winds of this great storm she flew to the young one. Just before the great tree crushed them she appeared and took the force of the hit.

He rushed over to her and with great effort pushed off the tree. The young one was safe but the storms daughter was hurt. To show his thankfulness he brought her to his home and as he helped her back to her health they bonded and grew to love each other. On the day that she was to leave to return to the storm he offered for her to stay and be his mate. She accepted and became his beloved queen.
