Biography

Simeon is soft spoken and wise, and is officially clan leader along with his mate Amalie. Due to his somewhat shy and calm nature, however, she usually takes on more active and visible leadership roles. Despite his appearance, he is strong and and capable himself. He is the leader of the clan's healing and magic specialists. He seems to dislike large bodies of water - the reason why is unclear.

A dusty town on the west of Rotrock.

» Origins «

The clan's origins begin with Simeon and Amalie, parentless children of the waste. While traveling the Boneyard on the way to the Wyrmwound to seek a sign from the Plaguebringer concerning their fate, they encountered the warrior guardian Joandra on her Search. After only a few days of traveling with them, Joandra, a dragon of few words, announced that they and their descendants would be her Charge - nevermind that they had no offspring at this point and hadn't indicated to her that they were mates. They took this as a sufficient sign, and settled in the area where she had revealed this to them - a gorge on the outer western edge of Rotrock Rim, sometimes frequented by travelers to the Wyrmwound. Other dragons on the way found reasons to stay - some of the first included Nova and Hugh - and eventually their encampment became a proper town.

While the Abiding Boneyard may seem (perhaps ironically) sterile, the dragons of plague will survive in any place, and these are no different. By building cisterns and carefully growing and trading food, this clan is able to continue and even grow. Clan Ostourbo began as a gathering of dragons who had no home elsewhere, by choice or otherwise. They come for a variety of reasons, be it business, research, solitude or escape from their past or their enemies. Now, it has become a static outpost, and is growing into a small town surrounding a modest caravanserai. As long as they don't cause much trouble, carry their own weight, and most importantly, don't oppose the Plaguebringer, about any dragon can stay. Some live here for their entire lives, while others are only staying for a short while. Sometimes, outsiders come through the pass on the way to the Wyrmwound for pilgrimage or exaltation. The clan's dragons will sometimes lead convoys of them there as guides and guards. They have alliances with centaurs of the area, but the Talonok and Serthis can be more aggressive, making an experienced local dragon a somewhat costly but important necessity. What brings you here?
