The Queen

The light is brightest when engulfed by the dark.

Queen by decree, not choice or even birth. She rules because it's her job now. She'd been trained to hunt Beasts, and she'd been darn good at it. Now that was out of the question. The kingdom had lost enough royalty already. Now it was a perpetual loop of decrees and declarations and dealings. Trapped in protection.

Goddess, she really does miss hunting. What good is being born with tremendous magical power when it's trapped behind jewels and lace?

Her family and friends keep her going. Without them she might've already punched a diplomat or two.
