Obsidian is a silent, mysterious warrior, given the title 'The Black Knight' by his clanmates. The only time he ever speaks is when giving orders as the clan's Commander.

Being very emotionally distant, he is often viewed as cold or uncaring, which adds to his unsettling presence. The only care he ever shows is for his granddaughter, Tintin, who he protects from both opponents and unruly bachelor dragons.

Though Obsidian was skeptical of Dementor's decision to merge with the Nature Clans, being wary of the 'glade dwellers' himself, he still follows him dutifully.

The Imperial is particularly distrusting of outsiders from other flights. This, at times, can hinder his judgement.
