Sunflitter

Sunflitter is the swift-witted and agile mage-mother to her clan. Few things delight her as much as magic, but the one thing that does? Hatchlings.

She will raise all the hatchlings. No exceptions.

She has produced a number of her own, but also finds time, somehow, to cast an eye over all the others in the clan.

Her protectiveness is perhaps explained by the fate of one of her first clutch, who strayed from the nest to another lair and was exalted while still quite young. This will not happen again: Sunflitter has decided that henceforth her young may only leave before adulthood if they go to another clan that she knows and trusts will allow them to grow up in safety. If they are asked to go and serve a dragon deity, it will be when they are old enough to handle it. Others may do as they please, but Sunflitter's shock at the fate of young Welter has set some very firm opinions into her mind.

(She finds some consolation in clan Miraear, whose exalted dragons, they have promised, will look after her boy as he roams Stormcatcher's home.)

(This is also why she entrusted them with a son from her second clutch, Vesperus, who shows every sign of becoming a fine dragon amongst a new clan-family.)

The first name by which she was known was VioletShimmer, but she grew tired of her former hues, and sought out spell-scrolls that shifted her colours and patterns to something that pleased her better, and she discarded her old name along with her old appearance, becoming Sunflitter.
