Biography


Skye is always buzzing with nervous energy. She knows that being a fae-the only one in the clan currently, in fact-means that she wont be able to communicate easily with her clan, and it makes her anxious. To combat this, she does her best to make herself as clear as possible when speaking, often devolving into a sort of 'the ring. the spinner ring. the ring for tani. the one we've been working on for a few days. that ring.' sort of speech pattern.

Aaron, wonderful mate that he is, has been studying fae fins and how their movements translate into common draconic language, and when Skye begins to freak out over miscommunication he will calmly walk over and explain what she's feeling to the confused clanmates, much to her relief.

Skye is prone to panic attacks when her anxiety gets too intense, and Aaron has developed several methods to assist her in calming down. He will provide her fidget toys, weighted blankets, things with soothing textures, curl around her tiny body and hum a calming tune in her ear. She is ever grateful that this mirror who wandered into her life is so helpful.

Skye is constantly flitting around the territory of her clan, checking up on her clanmates, ensuring all is well. it's a sort of ritual to seek out those who have stuck by her and simply touch them-brush against a leg, land on a shoulder, stroke a wing-before taking off again to continue her rounds.

She has also deemed herself caretaker of all hatchlings. It soothes her, the busywork of watching children, keeps her occupied so that the anxiety doesn't overwhelm her. Occasionally, a newer member of the clan will attempt to assist her, but they get backed out of the current little section of the lair the children are in by a flurry of wings and fins and a small voice assuring them that she has it under control, thank you, if you truly wish to help with the children then perhaps watch the cave entrance or fetch some food, but please don't enter while she's working thank you very much.

It's been quite the ride since she found Aaron and settled in their first little lair-each change of location had her heart fluttering with nerves, but that she has such a large clan with her now, who work with her, care about her, work to understand her...it's a soothing thought. And while nothing can stop the anxiety permanently, not really, she feels safe when surrounded by her clanmates, secure, and really, that's all she needs.
