Nagate was raised by his surrogate father, an unnamed Guardian who'd been in search of his Charge and found Nagate as an abandoned egg on the Wyrmwound's borders. Raised to be a fighter, Nagate spent his entire life training to meet the Beastclans on the battlefield, with only the Guardian for company, away from other dragons.

Once he was of age and had learned everything from his surrogate father, the unnamed Guardian told Nagate it was time to part ways; he would leave to serve the Plaguebringer and battle the Beastclans along with the other Exalted of his Flight, while Nagate used his skills to train others to do the same, in due time.

After this, Nagate ventured out across the Scarred Wasteland and was forced to cope with the rest of Sornieth on his own. Because of his lack of contact with other dragons, he'd been used to solitude and was naive and unaccustomed to common social practices. Because of his naivete, he was often put in awkward situations and even got involved in a few scuffles while searching for fighters.

Though his introduction into Sornieth was awkward, he eventually gained some attention in the Abiding Boneyard (though some will point out that it was because of his nature and personality, which deviates from others of his breed). Thanks to this, he met Shizuka.

After a sparring match, Nagate invited Shizuka to join him in his quest to train strong dragons for Plaguebringer and she readily accepted. 		Scratch
