EPITAPH oh, the eons cannot vex or tire

COMPONENTS: Silky sand, copper and candle wax dripping down burnt fingertips. Incense-choked air.

A quiet, private person, one might not expect him to command any position of power among the dragons of The Tabernacle. His is a religious post, providing counsel to every branch of the sect's decisions, ensuring their steps always align with the path of The Gods.

Most importantly, every several years, he entrusts the selected few of each generation with the sacred magics, the knowledge to maneuver dead flesh and bones as if life once again flowed through them.

Epitaph is ancient. Nobody is wholly certain how ancient exactly, but the serpent's stories wind back to the days when the world was still new to dragonkind. When the gods had first awoken and drawn their lines in the sands. When roosts and rooks were only just being scratched into the great sandstone faces of Greatwyrm's Breach.

He was a child then, and he has long purged all the names, the familial ties, but he remembers the age of giants. The shattered pillar, the scattered gods. The screams -- the seals and words that pulled rotted tendons and bones. The mother and the father, the god-killer.
