Tonight it was dark in the tangled wood, very dark, when the mirror looked up at the skies not a single star could be seen, as if the shade had taken control of the night sky. He walked through the woods, guided by the faint light of the strange mushrooms that glowed. Every now and again he would stop and look around, as if to make sure there was no one around to ambush him.

He paused, a faint noise breaking the eerie silence, it sounded like something large was near. The mirror dived into a bush for cover, causing the plant to tremble. The noise stopped and he glanced out of the bushes before jumping out to surprise the attacker and to gain an advantage. He was surprised himself however, for this was no attacker but another dragon. He looked warily at the other mirror before moving sideways, the other dragon mimicked the movement.

The brown mirror decided to try and make a friend rather than an enemy and spoke. “You are alone like me..?”
The obsidian mirror seemed surprised and hesitated before talking back. “Yes… who… who are you..?”
He smiled, she wasn’t attacking, and it seemed likely he would find an ally tonight. “I call myself Merlin; may I know your name..?”
The dark mirror seemed to relax and even had a faint smile. “My name is Raven.”
Merlin smiled, after many months he had finally made peace with another dragon.
