Mutation and accidents can cause even the warmest of dragons to turn into twisted versions of themselves. Radioactive is one of those.

He was always a strange minded person, learning and idolizing his mother - to which explains the disaster he became. Radioactive wasn't born with this name- no, he gained it from working at a Lightning Plant and ended up in a terrible accident. He wanted recognition for his work, to show that non lightning dragons could work and create as they did.
