Sombre, the leader of the Blackmoon Clan, spends most of her time outside of the caverns of Blackmoon. So how does she know all that happens within? Enochi. This imperial is a mute, making him the perfect set of silent eyes. He spends all day, every day, patrolling the caverns tirelessly, so quiet he goes unnoticed.
And if he catches one of the dragons breaking clan law, that dragon is as good as exiled.

Despite his general timidness, Enochi is fiercely protective over Queen Sombre. He becomes extremely aggressive when he feels his leader is being threatened, and the hair running down his back stands on end as he begins hissing and lashing his tail about.

Enochi gave up his voice to learn a secret set of runes which were goven to him by the Shadowbinder. They were too dangerous to speak, she said. They were runes of the mind and heart, and they was only one way to ensure they would never be spoken.

Hello, dear reader. I hope you find this journal to be in good condition. I fear that the clan will be long-gone before another dragon opens it's pages, but if such a tragedy should occur, I dearly hope this journal survives whatever event causes our demise.

These dragons are using black magic. I swear my life on it. I have watched these halls, these dragons, day after day, as my duty to the Overseer; and as a mute, others stopped noticing me after a while. I became a habitual part of their daily routine and blended into the background as if I were a piece of rarely-used furniture.

The inhabitants here are almost entirely mages, but they have no respect whatsoever for the laws of magick and intended purposes. They use it only to fulfill their own ends and means. They fail to see any higher cause.

Unfortunately, I have no evidence to offer for any of the claims made here. So you must take my word for these things, or the whole of the Tangled Wood may be in jeopardy.

They are working to create an Emperor, one unlike any seen before. I know not if the details -- they keep me in the dark concerning these matters. But they have let me see it with my own eyes, thinking that because I am mute I could not share this information. Clearly, they were incorrect -- I suppose they forgot that Matriarch Kaiyo had tutored me in the scribal arts.

However, I am straying from the subject of real concern here. Someone must stop them. I have not the power. Please, dear reader, if you are willing and able to help, write a message in reply and slip in under the doorway of the Armory. Aszhar will pick it up, and we will discuss things further from there.

If this journal is not found in time, I beg you to spread the message of what happened to the once-great Blackmoon Clan.
