The Ancient

Born of Lightning; Taken by Earth
A dragon not born in the Syndicate, nor taken in from another clan, but instead unearthed by the digging team. None were expecting to find blackened crystals under the large vein of gold they had discovered in Dragonhome; even less were they expecting it to roar in pain once they tried to mine it as well. Before they could free the rest of the gold from the dragon's hide, he rose from the ground, causing the earth to quake and shatter around him. The crew that had come to gather now had to figure out how to deal with the giant, confused dragon that was stumbling about the cavern, seemingly in search of something. Not knowing what else to do, they inquried to whether he would like to join the clan; a reply came from him after several minutes of looking at the smaller dragons blankly, he agreed but only under the condition that they help him find his familiar. Once they unearthed the giant, rockey beast the group set out back to the home of the Syndicate. Upon ariving there was much to be explained to the suspicous clan leaders which the ridgeback, who they now came to know as Gaelio, was happy to do.

He was a dragon from far back in time, one that had succumbed to the gembond disease and cast away from his clan so it would not spread. His spirits were crushed, this was not the first, but the second clan that had rejected him; his lightning brethren scorned him because the earth called to him, and his newfound earth family booted him out not long after. He had settled in the cave, where the gold took over his body and left him unable to move. Ages and ages passed as he was in a state of stasis before his uncovering. During that time dragons had used his hidden and hardened body as a canvas to paint history upon. His wings told of battles of old that had taken place during his "slumber," and he wished to know what they meant. The Syndicate accepted them into their home, thought skeptical of his story, as an archeologist and a gatherer. Now, he stays as one of the clan's main archeologists, as well as the historian. He has worked hard to uncover the past of Sornieth, and teach the rest of the clan about it.
