Biography
The Windswept Plateau is a beautiful place, full with a wild whimsy, and this is where Duke lives now, in the aftermath of the terrible thing he'd done.
He's on the Zephyr Steppes now, watching the hatchlings tumble in the gentle wind. He bites at the inside of his cheek while he watches them. They look horrifically vulnerable.
The air is sweet and soft, and sun filters through the kites and sails of the cloudsong in beautiful shifting oranges. A shiver runs through him, and along with it a thought that is quickly becoming familiar, wounding itself into his young bones: I don’t deserve this, not after what I did.
He spreads his wings to take flight and isolate himself in the wild winds of the Crescendo, then hesitates, thinking instead of Omega and Alpha. They have been good to him. They make him feel as though it might be possible to rebuild a life, and a good one.
He heads for them — comfort and kindness over his own self-flagellation, and it is certainly only a coincidence when the cloudsong trinkets part, and the sun shines down on him, briefly, a blinding white.
