Divergent | Fearless | Protector of the Skies
Some say he is a god. Others, that he is the messenger of the great Windsinger, a valiant guardian of mortals. There is one thing for sure - he is as his name suggests. He is of all, not one side or another. He is the great protector of the skies - exceptions to his justice are none.
Divergent awoke suddenly within a shell of light. He had one thought - get out. With a wild, frenzy-like confidence, the small Imperial hatchling drummed as hard as he could against the ashen, pulsing crust. He broke through - and into a blinding world, full of sights, smells and frightening noises. He wished he could crawl back into that egg and turn back time. But if he did, he would never have seen the goddess that stood before him.
Divergent patiently awaited the arrival of his brother. There was a tangled mess of wires and copper rods around him, and the looming shadows of his parents. One was small, with rough skin and a kind touch. The other was long, serpentine. An aura glowed around him; one that told of great wisdom lying inside.
Over the years, Divergent and his brother Thallane learned to absorb this wisdom from their father. Though they were young, they learned quickly and eagerly. Divergent was the dominant of the two; in addition to being bigger than his sibling, Divergent held the traits of a focused leader. Thallane was more mischievous and intelligent, giving their parents trouble to no end. The two made and unstoppable team, until they parted ways at adulthood.
Divergent became a traveller, exploring the lands in which he lived in. He was a wanderer; some said he watched over merchants and young dragons crossing borders into new lands. He travelled this continent many times over, a symbol of justice darting amongst the clouds.
Divergent settled among the lands of his heritage - Sunbeam Ruins. Here he prayed to his creator, for he was of no clan and of no flight. She answered his prayers of good fortune upon travellers. She took him into her arms, and gifted him with the radiance of a god, encasing his body in a new, illustrious form.
It was then that Divergent was enlightened; he was a true guardian, given a gift to help him in his never-ending quest to protect dragons who have no home. To this day, he continues to patrol the skies, carving a clear path for those who have lost their way.

A scream echoes between the mountains and down into the valley. An uneasy silence follows, broken only by the quiet swish of wings opening. The skies burn gold as an ancient guardian awakes. Gliding high above the clouds, he circles, searching for the source of distress. There are no warnings. There is no mercy. There is only wrong and right, and he is the one to decide the difference.
