You know her name only from the hushed whispering of other dragons. Whenever she passes, other dragons cease their conversations and look at her warily. They look away, as if trying to avoid eye contact. And when she's gone they comment on the bad vibes that she gives off. You have picked up that the others stay away from her, and you have decided to do the same, avoiding her whenever possible.

Yet one day, as you are walking to around the lair, you notice that the only way to get where you are going is past her. You walk on the side of the path, casting a worried look from the side of your eye, hoping that she won't notice you.

But she does. She sees your look, mistaking your worried gaze not for your safety, but for the bloodied bandages covering her. Motioning to them, she says, "Don't worry, I'm fine."
And as she passes you she whispers in your ear. "After all, it's not my blood." She gives you a smile, one that can only be described as unsettling.

And as she passes you, you come to the realisation that her deepsea globe was giving off a deep ruby glow. Turning around to watch her disappearing back, you realise that it always glows, even as she isn't near anyone else.

You think about this. Shouldn't it only glow in the presence of danger? Unless... she is the danger. But shouldn't it glow only in the presence of someone who is dangerous to the wearer?

You shiver, deciding to leave it be, and continue walking, hoping to never cross her path again.
