Biography
LUSOLTH || Prophet + Founder
Devoted to the uniting of the Plaguebringer and Gladekeeper into the ultimate life and death deity.
Purgatory.
___________________________________________________________________________________
Wise. Articulated. Beloved.
Fanatical. Secretive. Blind to his own shortcomings.
Lusolth was once the head of a massive Wildclaw clan that terrorized the Scarred Wastelands and its rivals. Cruel and bloodthirsty, he committed heinous acts that would leave him with a lifetime of regret and nightmares that plague him to this day. One event in particular allowed him to peer into the depths of his soul and to see just how gnarled and rotten it had become.
He abandoned his former family and life, searching for a new purpose. Conflicted in how to go on after the destruction he had caused, he fled to the Viridian Labyrinth. Lusolth made himself into the personification of life rather than death. He began a new clan, with new kin, and started anew.
His life devoted to the Gladekeeper ended like his to the Plaguebringer - in regrets and horrible actions. Once again, he had taken his faith entirely too far in the name of either deity. Lusolth was left in shambles once more. How could he possibly redeem himself?
Isolating himself for a time in the Starfall Isles, Lusolth now dedicated his life to studying his two deities. He agonized over the faiths surrounding the sisters, trying to understand how he could stray so far from good in the name of life or death.
His epiphany came after many sleepless nights and months of frenzied debate with other scholars. What if the separation of the Gladekeeper and the Plaguebringer was a mistake? What if they were meant to be one balanced deity of life and death? So many of their gods were conflicting pairs warring against each other.
United into one, they could bring peace to Sornieth.
Lusolth knew what he had to do: unite the warring lands of Sornieth and find a way to synthesize the deities into one. Being an expert on the Gladekeeper and Plaguebringer due to his time serving both sisters, he would be the ultimate advocate for their joined self he dubs Purgatory. In time, he would send missionaries to send the word to other clans, encouraging them to do the same and to unite Sornieth.
He began wandering the lands, preaching his ideas and taking in troubled youth. Morus, Beta, and Gamma were amongst the first. The others soon filtered in as well - some would stay, and others would go, but all would have Lusolth's beliefs planted in their mind.
Worshipping both the Gladekeeper and Plaguebringer through their ideal fused self, Purgatory, does not completely absolve Lusolth of his past. Though he is beloved by most and preaches a message of peace, he has not rid himself of hunger for power. Some join the cult clan not for peace or for Purgatory, but to worship Lusolth. He turns a blind eye to these devoted followers, allowing them to see him as an idol. There are even whispered rumors of him secretly indulging in his old ways and cutting down any who are in his path. Has he changed at all? Who is the true Lusolth - this wise, even-tempered advocate of peace? Or the vicious fanatic known for abandoning his family and straying from his ideals?
Only time will tell.
