Hushed whispers in the dark corners of a lair deep in the Leviathan Trench of the Sea of a Thousand Currents tell the tale of a magic spell gone tragically wrong. An ambitious dragon had been attempting to invent a potion to help plants grow in the depths of the ocean, but in a moment of carelessness he had fallen asleep knocking over his experiment in the process. Glowing green goo puddled ominously on the floor. Tucked away for the night in what they thought was a safe corner of the nursery no one noticed the slow dripping from the ceiling, landing squarely on the top of an egg. A gift of the Arcanist, a pure innocent child sheltered safely in an egg waited beneath the depths of the ocean for the right time to awaken. By morning all traces of the mishap were gone. Having absorbed the magical goo, the egg glowed with a faint greenish tinge, a sign that observers took as a trick of the light while they watched the egg slowly crack open revealing a small hatchling. The clan was overjoyed with the new arrival. Silent and calm he was an ideal child, until the strange happenings began. Preferring the company of plants to that of other dragons, his bond with nature was found to be quite unnerving for that of an arcane dragon. Dragons passing by him would feel as if even the rocks around him were alive, staring at them, waiting for something. Illogical fear as it is, the dragons cannot seem to change their preconceived view of him, his loner tendencies not helping the matter. He has the ability to speak, but simply chooses not to the majority of the time. Growing tired of the darkness at the bottom of the sea and the fear directed towards him by his clanmates, he decided to venture out on his own. The nature of a protector dwells within his heart he only needs a place, or perhaps another dragon, to protect. |
