The Blind Seer

There is not a person more difficult to understand than someone who does truly understand themselves. Echo is a strange young dragoness, whose heart holds a power that her mind struggles to compete with. Impulsive and at times reckless, she works on the basis of her emotions, allowing them to lead her to what she believes is right. There are times, of course, where this would send her astray, and it is its fault that she now longs for a mate she never truly has the right to covet. Perhaps it is better this way, for it is the forbidden fruit that is always most beautiful...

"There is nothing more honest in this world than the beating of your own heart."

She was born under a full moon, frail and thin with weak blood and little hope for survival. It was with this knowledge her parents left her, such a fragile thing, and it was a wandering soul which found her. Even he did not expect her to live, yet he carried her anyway, and it was to his heartbeat which she found comfort, listening to the stories of life and love it told her.

Never would she see the face of her savior, her eyes clouded, but she knew he whenever he was near. Though blind, there was so much that this young nocturne could see, listening to their stories through the sound of their breathing, the vibration of blood through their veins.

Long ago, her parents left her, expecting she would be nothing, and yet she stands as a seer, a kind soul, basked in a kind light that has yet to be explained. Even so long after their encounter, she still longed for a day where the dragon who had rescued her from certain death would notice her again as something more than just some small, delicate creature, but as someone worth of respect - perhaps of love?

It would be foolish, to expect such a fairy-tale ending, but the heart is such a fickle thing.
