Kana is a spontaneous and active fellow. He likes to be constantly on the move and so, while he may disappear for a few odd days or a fortnight - sometimes even a whole season! - he always returns to somewhere he can call home. Once, his home had been in the Gladeveins, with a Clan living beneath a large Willow. His tendency to be there one minute and gone the next once caused endless frustration for the planner of the his previous Clan, a Pealrcatcher named Aurora, but Kana always made a point of bringing her back flowers he's found in the woods. She never stayed mad at him for long. It was, truly, how he received his role as Scout. He was happy, and in his element - this was his life, until the faeries attacked, and Aurora died, among many of his friends. His Clan fell, and he had to flee for his life.

He is generally friendly and eager to play with whomever he meets. However, when the livelihood of his friends and Clanmates is threatened, he loses his kind-hearted, playful ways. Patience and understanding are lost to a desire to protect: He jumps to conclusions and often needs to be talked down from starting a fight that doesn't need to be fought. Afterwards, Oshkana will apologize and move forward, putting the past behind him easily. He does not hold a grudge, and is always willing to forgive and forget. It is hard to forgive and forget, though, when his friends died at the hands of those who destroyed his home.

Now he travels Sorneith, scouting further than he ever had before, a lost soul. Though nothing could ever replace his old Clan, his friends, his fallen nest, there is a home for him out there - there has to be.
