Hyades and Hyas and the Pleiades
Family tree?
Nine brightest stars of the Pleiades are named for the Seven Sisters of Greek: : Sterope, Merope, Electra, Maia, Taygeta, Celaeno, and Alcyone, along with their parents Atlas and Pleione.
As daughters of Atlas, the Hyades were sisters of the Pleiades.
The English name of the cluster itself is of Greek origin, though of uncertain etymology.
Suggested derivations include: from plein, "to sail," making the Pleiades the "sailing ones"; from pleos, "full, many"; or from peleiades, "flock of doves."

SPleione has walked this world for many a year. She does not care for others, who come and go in what seems the blink of a eye. She cannot find it in herself to care for those who die so soon; she has lived for so long that perhaps it is simply impossible for her. Mortals are odd to this little-known goddess; a force that can change the world, shift rivers, lay ruin in their wake and yet that she lacks the ability to comprehend how. The little insects they are, she thinks, how can they do such things. A eternal being such as her cannot see how long a lifetime is, merely that it is nothing compared to hers, and thus worthless. She watches over sailors and the vast flocks mortals keep for some reason Pleione cannot comprehend. Though she takes on these duties with great reluctance, she at least has a partner in her unending watch; a fellow deity by the name of Atlas. His duties differ greatly from hers; while he takes on the immense duty of supporting the weight of the heavens upon his shoulders, she lives in the bright sun with comparably light things to oversee. Yet, they met one day, and Pleione began to visit the deposed god upon his marble pedestal, marveling at his stories of the heavens and their stars. Pleione lacked the power of the mighty Titan, and she could never know these things the way he could, but she found a degree of solace in a fellow deity, one who watched the goings-on of mortals, who was confused by them in the same way as she. He, much unlike she, could never abstain from his duties, as he had been placed there by beings much more powerful than the two put together. They loved one another for longer than one can know, spending hours talking about the passing of eons, the mortals they had known, the deities who were so much greater than them. Finally, they gave birth to seven daughters |
