A pitch black shadow soared through the night air. The bright full moon glinted off of the shape of a dragon soaring through the air.
"Where to go next...." she muttered. A stolen coat of pitch-black feathers covered her dark leathery wings. A Steam Gyre materialized next to her and chirruped quietly.
Fumbling through the large pockets on her silver jacket, the dragon pulled out a long roll of paper, dropping several trinkets as she did.
Sighing, she dived down to grab some of her favorites. After retrieving them, she opened the long roll of paper. This paper was a list of places to steal from, sorted by the names of the owners. Finding a name she was satisfied with, she dove downward into the Tangled Wood.

As the time neared midnight, all of the lights were off in the dragon dwellings. The dark dragon used her magically enhanced sense of direction to locate the house owned by the dragon named Maybelle.
Flying low over the ground, she peered through a window. Seeing no movement, she gently and silently pushed open the rickety window frame and climed inside quietly. Using her natural night-vision, she had no need for a light.
"Fade," she told the gyre at her side. In a puff of steam, it disappeared, exept for its blue eyes, which glowed slightly. She began rummaging through a pack on the ground, looking for anything worth stealing.
She grew frustrated, as all that was in the pack was various spellbooks and alchemy recipies. "Crag," she complained quietly.
"Stealing is wrong," a soft, but threatening voice complained from the shadows. "Azakara, Daughter of the Starless Night."
Azakara whipped her head around. Silently, she moved to a ready position. "Ah, Maybelle, I presume." Her mind ran wild as she thought of every possible escape plan. I'm sure I can make it through that window, she thought. "Why would you be awake at this late an hour?"
"Not that it's any of your business," said Maybelle, still hidden in the dark shadows of her rough nest. "Let's just say I'm sensitive to people stealing my stuff."
She stepped out of the shadows and growled. Maybelle was a pearlcatcher, a medium-sized breed, but Maybelle was wearing a set of spiked armor and looked prepared and quite upset. That almost guaranteed that Azakara would lose in combat, as she wouldn't consider herself a warrior. Maybelle had purple shimmery wings and hard diamondlike skin.
"I think I'll be going now," Azakara said, backing towards the small window she entered from. Maybelle lunged at Azakara viciously, prepared to chase the poor nocturne down.
Azakara exploded out of the wall of the run-down nest, making a crashing sound. Maybelle flew out of the nest, chasing her.
I've got this, thought Aza, I can fly much farther than this warrior can.
Much to Aza's consternation, "this warrior" was far better at flying than any warrior she had ever met. She used flying techniques that she had learned from the Wind dragons on the Windswept Plateau, but she just couldn't lose the pursuing pearlcatcher. She called her gyre, and directed it towards her pursuer.
She gained a few feet but the warrior kept pursuing. After a few minutes, her enemy dropped to the ground. Finally, she's tired out.
She immediately regretted thinking she had won, for Maybelle called out a binding spell and bound Aza tightly in solid coils like wind. Pulled toward the ground, Aza struggled against her bindings, but to no avail.
"You know, I could use someone like you," said Maybelle. "If you don't want to end up in real trouble, I'd take my offer."
Having no other choice, Aza accepted the offer.
Maybe she shouldn't have.

She has been a thief for as long as she can remember, so she always considers other people's stuff fair game.
Relations\\
She has grown close to some of the dragons in the clan since she joined, and Karkat is no exception. Once she realized she was attracted to him, she let him know. He didn't complain about her forwardness, in fact, he liked her all the more for it.
Sunny and Aza grew to be best friends when Aza joined the clan. Many a time they have made a great team and have finished many "missions" given to them by their matriarch because of their excellent teamwork and meshing skillsets.

Shadow
Azakara is a Shadowling through and through. She has many contacts in Shadow and has many "friends", though they don't trust her at all.
Fire
Aza spent an interesting amount of time theiving in the areas around the Great Furnace. That's where she met her gyre, her best friend, and thats where her mate came from.
