Born in The Viridian Labyrinth Aerie was raised to live amongst the nature that flourished all around him. Rare was a day that he and his brothers weren't playing in the lush fields of their isle. They hadn't a care in the world. That is until the day came were his youngest brother Geraint finally became of adult age. Word had come down from their parents that he was to be sent to serve the Gladekeeper. A service that no dragon that had ever received that honor came back from. As Aerie said his farewell to his beloved brother he could tell Geraint knew he would never come back. The look in his eyes broke Aeries heart.

A great rift now divided his family. His own parents treated the incident as a non issue. Something that just happens. His older brother Acel turned to gathering berries and fruit for hatchlings in the Everbloom Gardens as a way to cope. Aerie however could not fill the void his brother left. He decided to leave home without a word just under a month later.

Aerie turned to the coliseum to harden his heart. With each battle he became more reckless often putting himself and his teammates in danger. The dragons he fought with would never stay with him long, they wanted no part of his careless behavior. Unable to advance further without a team to back him Aerie left the coliseum scarred and utterly defeated. He had no interest in seeing the family that he felt betrayed him so he decided to go elsewhere. He had heard talk of the Starfall Isles and the curiosities that went on there from other dragons that had passed through the coli. He resolved to go there.

Almost immediately upon arrival at The Crystalspine Reaches Aerie was approached by a younger and smaller dragon named Selendrile who wanted Aerie to join his small clan. Aerie agreed hesitantly as he had nowhere else to go.

Time passed and Aerie stayed in Selendriles very tiny clan. It was a nice change of pace from the big lair he had come from. He began to dabble in alchemy and slowly became a top notch brewer. Most others thought the job too dangerous. The young ones respected his space leaving him to do his own thing most of the time. Selendrile, who had become a friend, would joke that it was Aeries face that would scare them out of approaching him. Or his sheer size. He was the largest dragon in the clan after all. That is until a dragon from the Sunbeam Ruins named Wonka joined them.

Wonka became quick friends with Aerie. Wonka would tell him about great scrolls he had read and Aerie would tell him about the tremendous battles he had seen in exchange. Their talks were never short of fascinating to one another and Aerie was very glad that Wonka never asked about his past before the coliseum.

One day Selendrile came over and listened in on a story Aerie was telling about an especially brutal battle he had had. The battle that left him with the scar across his face. It was after the story that Selendrile brought up the idea of the three of them going to fight in the coliseum. Aerie couldn't help but laugh as he looked down on the younger dragon. He and Wonka were easily 7 times Selendriles size. They all agreed to go together though, with Aerie at the lead helping them learn how to battle in the coliseum while at the same time they taught him how to open his heart back up.
