Palm is very enthusiastic about other places and cultures, and enjoys learning about their ways. Rather than serving the Windsinger, he claims that his shamanic tendencies are directed towards the metaphysical and its effects on the clan. He performs rituals and invites the clan to circles and offerings, and while many members ascribe to the Windsinger to some extent, the clan hasn't been very religious since Ratin's rule started to be interrupted by new ideologies. As such, Palm's efforts at expanding their horizons to other branches of magic and worship are welcomed. This was one of the reasons he was asked by Ratin Faiac to join the council when Lurifax was deemed inadequate as leader.

Dry leaves and candles are, in Palm's opinion, the perfect combination, and he has furnished his quarters with these items despite the countless protests from other clan members. When the clan resided near the Leviathan Trench, the frequent fires were easily put out, but the Twisting Crescendo is noticeably void of ocean. Orchid has, as a result of this, decided to set up his residence close to Palm after the migration, so that he as waterkeeper can quench the flames as needed.
