No one knows why the urbane, effete Maybelline has taken up residence in the rough cliff dwellings of the Cerrillos Village. He can't fight, he doesn't mine, and he's useless at hunting and gathering. Still, he doesn't complain about the heat or the dust, and his constant flirting with the rough males of the clan seems to keep morale up. Why this is enough to warrant Ajra letting him stick around is unsure, though rumors have it it is more of Grax's say than hers.
He can be a bit of a head-scratcher among the clan, especially those that remember when Ajra still ran her cult. As soon as the Cerrillos tribe reclaimed the village, he took to a campaign of reparations. The tribe were shocked at first that an outsider would speak up on their behalf, but considering the sway he had with Grax, it wasn't long before they took a liking to him.
Since the dissolution of the Rockbreaker Cult, Maybelline has taken up a number of causes that he describes as 'social justice', from reversing the lingering colonialism of the cult to demanding better working conditions for the mines to getting in the face of anyone who tries to enforce a gender binary.
