Biography
Verath
Clan Leader
"Quote or Desc" |
|
Verath was born deep within the frozen wastes of the Southern Icefields, though he remembers little from his actual youth. In fact, beyond his eventual meeting with his partner, Avrae--a fellow iceborn Wildclaw of similar design--he remembers very little from his past. A failed hunting trip is the main reason for this. It's not often that a Wildclaw's hunt goes wrong, but his did--terribly, terribly wrong. The wind the carried his wide-spanned wings took him for an unexpected ride, dragging him down to the frozen wastes. The land itself seemed determined to consume his form, as snow and frost wrapped around his limbs, making his attempts to screech for his partner nearly impossible. There were reasons others warned not to fly too close to the Fortress. Days, if not weeks were spent, trapped within the icy tomb at the foot of one of the many mountains, unable to escape from the land's icy embrace. Verath had become a prisoner to the land, tried with the crime of trying to survive. Just when it seemed as if no more small critters were going to venture within his weakened grasp and his will to survive was waning, a familiar figure appeared within the short distance. Covered with the same sparkling frost of the Icefields, the young Wildclaw appeared, darting through the snow with a look of determination clear on her maw and in her glacial eyes. A single call was all it took to draw her attention and have her flying across the field to her nearly lost mate. In under an hour the young hunter was freed from his icy prison, though the time spend beneath the snow had done a number on his form. How he was able to move was unknown to either dragon, though neither cared enough to question it. All that mattered was that the hunt could now resume. They never could have expected the future that had been planned for them, however. Neither could have expected that in time, they would find themselves within a small clan of misfits, and in time, being tasked with leading said clan through the frozen wastes of the Southern Icefields. Verath had not asked to be a leader, though it seemed as if his destiny was to be one. A dark night in their new clan ended with Eridanos's fall from power as he suffered a wound that made him unfit to lead. Who better, he assumed, to lead his clan through otherwise unfamiliar (to him) territory than someone who had lived their all of their days, and had seemingly been chosen by the land to become one with it? No better than Verath, it seemed. Despite his youth, the Wildclaw took up his charge willingly, starting what would be a wonderful new beginning for Clan Shadowfrost. |
