Cares for any hatchlings with unfit parents, along with any lost eggs the clan finds.
Oh god, there were so many eggs in the hatchery, there were so many small lives, but their arms and wings could only carry so many. Fleeing for safety is a hurried, frantic action and so few eggs made it through the barrier with them in the end.
Calypso and Seraphine did their best, but lost many eggs and hatchlings in the accident. They do what they can to keep the remaining ones safe, but most nights are spent curled up together reassuring one another that there's nothing more they could have done. She could not stay here any longer, not somewhere that children could suffer from the most unexplained and sudden of events. It was time to move on.

Although it was hard to leave her former life behind, Calypso knew she was making the right decision. And so she set off, with only a knapsack and her memories for company.
The journey north took longer than expected; a direct route would've taken her directly through the Starfall Isles. The thought of all of that ambient magic made her feel uneasy. Calypso didn't mind, nothing would keep her from her final destination: Dragonhome. Dragons from earth were known for being calm, steady, and above all safe. Just her luck that when she finally reached her destination, she was picked up by a clan that had immigrated from the Shifting Expanse.
From what she had always heard, dragons from the Shifting Expanse had "risky experimentation" as their middle name. This one, however, seemed different. They seemed to be the kind of cautious that can only come from experiencing the very worst that life had to offer. Best of all, this was a clan with very few hatchlings. Besides, she's been taken under wing by Kelpbeard, the sweet snapper that takes care of the few hatchlings that Clan Urtok does have.
All in all, Calypso has a good feeling about her new home.
