B I O G R A P H Y

Skule was wandering the Shrieking Wilds, stealing and selling goods to whomever he could outsmart. When he ended up in Ragnild's territory, she made it quite clear to him that they were not a clan to be trifled with. Skule was timid and weak, but not stupid. He was able to entice Ragnild with many various weapons and treasures found in far away lands. Though impressed with his wares, she wasn't so naive that she would pass up an opportunity to have an "outside connection". She gave him two options: either leave her territory and never return (with the promise of a much more hostile greeting), or he could have a purpose to his trade. Ragnild admitted to seeing a need for trading with other clans, and needed someone with experience to do just that. Skule, being the wary salesman himself, wanted to know what he gained from this. She promised him safety. If ever he was in a land where his "techniques" got him into trouble, she would make sure that he came out unscathed. That, and a sort of home base where he would always have food, drink, and a place to sleep. Skule had never thought he would be trusted enough to join a clan, but wasn't about to pass up a deal like this. So he agreed to be Ragnild's personal link to the outside world.

During one of his travels to the Scarred Wastelands, he contracted a very rare, and deadly disease. Unfortunately, though the disease is easily treated in its first stage, the long travel home and lack of symptoms kept him from seeking immediate treatment. The skin around his mouth began peeling back, callousing and festering. His wings looked like paper being burnt on the edges, making him flightless. When he finally made it home, his left eye was lost to the disease. Nambi, after months of care, was able to finally stop the spread of destruction. He now visits her daily to seek medical attention (after her rather violent persistence). Skule had lost many things: his flight, his sight, and most of all, his pride. He hides his features under a cape and only deals with local merchants. He was never very social, but the disease kept him from opening up to anyone. Except for Nambi. She not only saved his life, but she is the only one who has seen his face since returning home. She doesn't hesitate to touch his skin, rubbing salves on it to keep it from further infection. She doesn't treat him like a burden. Nambi is the only person who he feels comfortable around.
