Jay

This hatchling is grey and dreary-- everything a Coatl resents. His parents love and forgive him anyways, but he isolates himself from others, instead consumed by fashion. He is often inconsolable except for his sister. He is polite to others, introverted (and sometimes even downright reclusive,) and intelligent with an eye for beauty-- what a shame he refuses to see any in himself.

Jay soon found himself in Plague territory after his sister left to serve under the Tidelord - he did not think he would be of any help at all in the fight for dominance, and with a heavy heart decided not to follow her. Perhaps these red-eyed dragons, with their love of sickness and mutation, would accept him. . With faux orchid feathers weaved into the dull grey of his plumage, Jay at last came upon a lair which welcomed him. Ill omens and creatures who carry them were welcomed here. Though somewhat envious of his clanmates' colors, he tried to take a little pride in himself.

He has now settled with Nephthys, a wildclaw with similar coloring, and has finally found the acceptance he craved. The two of them exchange fashion ideas and generally live a happy life, and despite the difference in language appear to understand each other relatively well. Dragons of his color are beloved - however, Jay's insecurities still exist, and he wears the false wings and tail-feathers as if they were his own.
