Shakily, you turn your head. A Guardian towers over you, his crystal body marred with hideous scars. You gulp as his pale eyes narrow with scorn.

Initially a member of a clan from the Water Flight, his history and nature is vastly different from that of his mate. Without a Charge, and, hence, without a purpose, he was sent as a spy on the Ice Territory, to blend in and gather information on their flight's weaknesses. Eager to prove himself, he took the request with grace and travelled to the snowy wastelands.
This proved to be a mistake. Despite his rock-like hide, he was not able to withstand the harsh terrain of the Fortress of Ends, and whichever being was watching him - and he did feel their presence - left him to die, knowing of his purpose and heritage. Using the last of his magic, he froze over.
Months later, a travelling female Guardian came across his frozen body and carried him to the warmer tundras, hoping to revive him. The magic he'd used barely managed to keep him alive when he thawed, but his fate came with a price - when he awoke, his eyes reflected the stark white of the Ice flight. Now an Ice elemental dragon, and with nothing else to lose - as he had no clan to return to - he chose to accompany his rescuer, Opal, on her Journey.

Some dragons may say that Atlantis is a natural fighter, but most claim he is simply violent and as harsh as the icy tundra. He is quick to admonish those who stand in his way, and is a terror to all manner of beasts on the battlefield - as he stops at nothing to defeat him. While his brute strength is an asset to the clan, it becomes problematic at times, as he butts heads with the naive leader, Caelia. However, Opal manages to keep him in check. His gentle mate is the only being that draws any emotion from him or that he has any desire to protect - therefore, some assume she is, technically, his Charge.
In an effort to warm him up, Opal took him to his old home, the Water flight, for a historical day in Sornieth. A Snowsquall Floracat grew fond of him, and though his mate convinced him to keep it, he has no idea what to do with the thing. Both Atlantis and the young cat, named Io, mostly keep to themselves - except in times of need.
