Lore: First born in the outer reaches of the Hewn City in the redwoods by the border with the Shadow territory. Eventides patrol the borders of the Hewn City to ensure the misty shadows stay within the City’s bounds and any Shade Remnants are promptly and properly defeated. The first Remnant was discovered when a Foxfire Bramble broke through to a cavern in the Hewn City releasing the remnant. The first eventides snuck through the redwoods of their homeland to surround the Remnant and destroy it. Eventides bring anything they find on their patrols back to their clans.

Appearance: Their dusky fading and brightening coat of charcoal represents the betwixt sky of day and night. Their wings reflect the woods and shrubbery surrounding their birthplace and reflect their personality. The Smoke gene represents the swirling mists found at dusk and dawn, the tertiary color gives a dragon its fighting style.

Habits/Personality: Mostly a calm and reticent bunch, members of the Eventide species prefer to stay out of the limelight. Instead they prefer the soft mornings and evenings in which to do their work. Many dragons of this subspecies are well versed in scholarly ways and capable of great archaeological finds. Individual Eventides usually take on attributes of their color, see specific variants for more detail.

Combat: Eventides also make wonderful warriors and mages. They employ a liberal use of shadows from fading or brightening light to blend through forests and green leaf scrubland. Subdued unassuming fighters that deal calculated and precise blows, they use the light to their advantage. See specific variants for more about their fighting style.

Shadesiblings: False Eventides, born into Shadow clans are referred to as Shadesisters or Shadebrothers. They have use of the Shaded Elements during combat and ability to stave off creeping tendrils of bramble from sneaking through the shadow of the redwoods to join with the shadow of the Hewn City.
