Zjeade

Zjeade Shadow-in-the-River is a quiet, shy, retiring water dragon. She resides in the waterways of the clan's territory and is a graceful, adroit swimmer; she uses her wings more as fins, and is in fact quite reluctant to fly more than a few feet from the ground. When she must spend any length of time out of the water, she wears a wet wool hat, and wraps her skin in damp linen to keep it moist.

She is intimidated by the clan's pearl dragon chorus, avoids them when possible and is uncomfortably deferent when brought into their company, although she cherishes their performances and quietly slips into the shadows when the show has begun and nobody is likely to notice her. Katheryn has noticed, and become fond of the younger pearl, hoping to draw her out; she is slowly gaining Zjeade's trust and affection, and Zjeade can sometimes be found lurking peacefully in the streams and pools of Katheryn's expansive gardens.

Zjeade spends much of her time quietly gathering cresses, insects and fish for the clan. She is polite and deeply pious, committed entirely to the Shadowbinder, and wishes to represent the element of water in shadow well---although ideally, without attracting much attention, especially divine attention. Not even Moss can find her in her series of complex aquatic dens if she does not wish to be found.
