Bio:

"Plaguebringer said we'd have a visitor."

Having had failed to introduce himself, all a visitor could go on was appearance. The mirror is old, scales criss-crossed with scars and hardened by age. The growling in his voice might have been due partly to it's shaking. His face was a practiced neutral, as was the tone of his last sentence.

The pack of mirrors which surrounded and walked alongside him and his visitor weren't so neutral. They openly sized the visitor, some growled warning, some snorted with disgust or distrust. Their eyes betrayed what is nearly always true about a mirror pack: they were a mixed bunch, wanderers who perhaps only happen upon the current pack recently. Yet rare for mirrors, they submitted at least momentarily to the leadership of the elder. None wanted a visitor. But apparently none would claim the speaker's claim to Plaguebringer's words.

Further predictable to mirrors' behavior, they were all silent as they walked. The only sounds in the wasted, windless land was the footsteps of the hosts. While such silence might be customary among mirrors, the knowledge was hardly comforting. It only seemed to add a finality to the eeriness of the Plague-ridden land.

But some fate can be controlled, and the visitor hadn't been commanded to silence. "Plaguebringer expects me?" The question fell loudly, but childhood stories still echoed louder in the mind. Be careful of the Boogie Deity, she might get you.

"For her weekly Wyrmwound Pool Party. Most dragons only scream for a moment, unless they survive."

there was barely a beat of silence before the old mirror began to laugh -- a sudden, friendly, warm sound. A long time ago, he might have had a rich, baritone speaking voice. The surrounding mirrors with wind and shadow eyes joined in, one wind female as loud as him, and the others chuckling appreciatively. A light mirror rolled her eyes, and a fire mirror again eyed the visitor up and down, this time with a crackling energy which said without words that he was both amused by and sorry for the unease of their visitor.

"Yes, she does. We shall accompany you. LittleShadow shall guide you. Try to start trouble, and the tundra will never, ever forget you. If you survive us."

This time there was no jest. For a moment, the mirror's eyes flashed with a fierce threat. But it was quickly gone behind a neutral mask. "The Oasis of Plague is magnificent. Plaguebringer has blessed you. And there is LittleShadow."

Personality:

SkyTalon is at the first, and at the last, a true Plague mirror. He immediately fits every stereotype mirrors are known by: His words are to the point; his behavior is fierce and his appetite is merciless. His attitude is both communal, pack-oriented, yet unquestionably independent. He gazes upon destruction and illness with curious alertness, and not with horror or fear, ready to either take advantage of or learn from the situation.

Fitted between instinct and proud heritage is the molding of his history and ancestry. His wanderings found him within the Windsinger's territory for decades, where he learned to laugh and find fun, and where instincts pulled from his father's guardian nature began to bud and blossom. SkyTalon almost instinctively assumes a protective role in the face of uncertainty, and has stepped into the role as spokesdragon for the mirrors so often that this too has become second nature.

But his final focus is always an any-means self-survival. He doesn't care if family, friend, or deity says not to, Skytalon will destroy any threat that crosses his path.

Abilities:

A dragon’s magical abilities grow as they age. The eldest plague dragon of the territory, and the most directly blessed by Plaguebringer herself, Skytalon is by far the strongest Plague dragon in Plague's Oasis. He also makes a good mediator between other dragon species and the mirrors, if he's got a good reason to. This is especially true with faes, he understands the intentions of their toneless words perfectly. (Living with one for decades will do that for a dragon.)

Trivia:

SkyTalon is the reason there isn't a decisive divide among the elders. Because he loves the wind dragons, the other core elders tolerate them. As a return favor, he tolerates the fact that many of them aren't mirrors - and keeps peace when in fact he tends to agree with the grumblings of the mirror pack against Sycamore in particular, a dragon once a mirror who is content no longer to be one.

SkyTalon: N/A An elder Plague mirror who long served Plaguebringer in Contagions, the pathogens he carries are now ineffective in most the population. He spent much of his life working in the Wind Territories with a fae mate, and much of his expertise is knowledge of the fae and wind language and customs as well as the Old Wind Paths which he sometimes acts as guide for in new contagions.

Fyre: Literally full of Hot Air, Fyre lifts easily off the ground to fly or float. She must continuously emit the floating air within her. She contains a good deal of it inside of her Windborne balloon and is quite the decorator.
