Caretaker :: Nesting Grounds & Nursery Head Guard
Kyandi is an enigmatic and revered elder dragon who serves as the head guard of the Nesting Grounds and the Nursery.
Kyandi's small form is adorned with shimmering scales that look very in place between the beautiful crystals of Arcane, with wise and piercing eyes she commands both awe and respect. Her age has granted her an unparalleled knowledge and wisdom, which she uses to safeguard the precious younglings within her care.
Unlike some dragons that act as guards, Kyandi possesses a gentle and nurturing nature, she has a deep affinity for hatchlings and childrens in general, understanding their vulnerability and the need for protection, with watchful eyes, she tirelessly scans the land and the skies, guarding against any potential threats with all her being, her size not making her any less lethal than an Imperial.
During the day, Kyandi can be seen soaring effortlessly above the nesting grounds, her keen gaze surveying every inch of the surrounding area, she is known to have a keen sense of danger, and her presence alone is enough to deter any would-be attackers (though thankfully are few and far between, with her, the other caretakes and the whole Gaolers district on the watch theres little that escape their eyes).
Kyandi's bond with the children is unbreakable, she knows each of them by name and has a special affection for those who are injured or ill, with gentle nudges and comforting whispers, she soothes their pain and helps them to heal. The young dragons, in turn, adore Kyandi! They see her as a wise and loving Dusthide, and they often seek her out for guidance and protection. Kyandi's presence fosters a sense of unity and camaraderie among the younglings (and the caretakers themselves), who learn from her the importance of loyalty and cooperation.
Kyandi's role as a head guard extends beyond the Nesting Grounds and the Nursery though, she is also a respected elder who provides wisdom and counsel to the other dragons in the clan, even Starbound asks for her advice sometimes, her knowledge of the surrounding lands and her understanding of dragon lore make her a valuable asset to the community.
She is a symbol of strength, loyalty, and unwavering dedication to the well-being of the younglings of the clan.
And so, as generations of young dragons come and go, Kyandi, like her forever young friend Seis, continues to stand watch over them, ensuring their safety and nurturing their growth in this serene and idyllic sanctuary.
