Biography
Energy has always been attracted to the dark magics, the primitive healing powers of the historical mages. He blends in well with the major swamp that guards the east side of the kingdom’s capital. His magics and healing are so well developed that many come to him for advice, spells, and poultices. While many of the dark magic spells were crafted to bring doom upon the user, their target, or both, he was able to develop it so that they could be used for simple, everyday tasks. Despite the fact that many ‘dark’ magics are known to bring harm, he found that many were simply misused or misread, and were called that because they often made the user feel more ill before getting better, a common Shadow flight trick. He was able to engineer the majority of these remedies so that they could benefit the user without at first hurting them. However, in the case of rash, young dragons angered and seeking revenge, he always has just the perfect poultice specifically designed to turn its user into an Ember Mouse for a day or two. Just to teach them a lesson.
Of course, he isn’t quite old himself. However, he is quite intelligent, more so than many other dragons, and as such tends to stay away from others so as to not be ‘dumbed down’ by them. He is comfortable around his mate, Artichoke, but will frequently gripe at her about many of the customers that visited him that day.
As he is a shaman, one of his major pastimes is gardening. He has a garden filled with herbs, spices, and flowers for his potions. He will spend many days at a time developing his own potions and will test them on himself. He will also journey into the capital to find ancient spellbooks.
Because of his reputation, the castle will oftentimes let him visit their vast library, spanning millennia. While the librarians always complain about his crotchety behavior (especially for such a young dragon) they always seem to welcome him with smiles on their faces. They are constantly working hard to dig up old books for him and he will assist them, in case there are malicious spells on the tomes that only he has the power to address.
While Energy may complain that he hates most dragons, it is those librarians, his mate, and his offspring that he truly cares for. In fact, he truly cares for all of his patients as well. Some may have spells or illnesses that take him days to remove but he always works hard to ensure that they leave his nest area in tip-top condition. To make some extra profit Artichoke will go into the capital and sell some of his dark herbal remedies, all of which are very successful and famous. Many of his clients, however, will journey into the swamp to find him, but occasionally he will be called upon in the royal palace in order to assist one of the royal family.
