Ryst is a tough dragon with a penchant for fighting. She keeps in line with the peaceful vision of the clan, but understands that some dragons may need to vent or burn off some energy in the arena. She founded and keeps the arena in which moderated fights between clan members are held. Most arena fights aren't out of hostility, but rather sport and a reason to party.

Ryst also heads the closest thing to a military this clan has. She is the head of defenses and often makes commands when to set out on attacks rather than defend. She is joined by the head of strategy and together they fend off foes and protect the clan from unwanted slaughter.

Although she may come off as aggressive, Ryst is actually kindly to all in the clan. She is often the first to break out sweet drinks at a celebration and sing the clan's songs together heartily and freely. She believes in freedom for all dragons and will not stand to see her fellow kin used or abused, sometimes getting involved in other clans' business because of this.

Abandoned as only an egg, protected by a plague sprite who dearly held on to the egg, she was found by Bahanni wandering the wastes in grief. She was taken in with the sprite, who was nursed to health by the clan's then beastkeeper. Bahanni hatched Ryst on her own, claiming that she was her mother and she would take care of her. Since then, she has seen some of the best and worst of the clan's development, and swore to protect the dragons in her clan when she was old enough to do so.

Ryst considers Bahanni and Rossun to be her parents, and loyally keeps the monument to Rossun's duty to Windsinger clean and free of tarnish and overgrowth. Her familiar, the plague sprite who was with her as an egg, is dear to her as well, and almost never leaves her side. Ryst is familiar with most dragons in the clan, as she heads the guard, but is most friendly with Nom and the strategist, who she considers her dear friends.
