Valerian would not look out of place as a wealthy merchant's daughter. She likes to sample the pleasures of life and surrounds herself with small luxuries, be it the silks draped over her frame or the ethereal perfume that follows in her wake. She's surprisingly approachable, her warm and honest manner inviting others to come join her. Her easy laughter often rings out in the Lysistrati Hall when she's not working, accompanied by her friends and/or co-workers. She knows the worst jokes and isn't afraid to use them. She also has a sweet tooth a mile wide and will cheat you out of your pancakes whenever she can, mostly because she's also a horrible cook.

Despite this, Valerian has a practical, analytical manner, not to mention an expansive knowledge of dragon physiology that helps her in her job as an interrogator/torturer. She has an inner core of strength and a skill for deceit that suit her role in the Imperium. Valerian very effective at what she does, long numb to the pain and suffering of her subjects. She can separate very well - perhaps too well - what she does for the Imperium from the rest of her life. Although she's a very intellectually inclined dragon, she also has a very emotional side. She's a good listener and likes to engage others in conversation about several subjects. Her empathy is what makes her so good at extracting information. Psychological warfare can be more damaging than physical one.
