GIALI
xxx• Outcast (Temporary biography! Please pardon our mess!) Most of the lairspace at Dawn's Dusk is open to the many wandering dragons who travel through these parts. The air is warm, with beams of light piercing even the darkest corners of the ruined Arena, ensuring that the dragons within are never in want of the sun's comfort. Except... in one place. Below the lair, where only but the bravest pilgrims venture, lies a labyrinth of bars, the cages and tombs of the arena's long forgotten competitors. Many paths of the underground are blocked off for fear of curious hatchlings becoming lost to the maze, and more than a handful of the lair's citizens have expressed concern of an attack from below, as it is suspected that it connects to the larger catacombs of the Hewn City and Tangled Wood. Yet, perhaps the most frightening part of the purgatory-like underworks is the whispers. Every night, without fail, a dragon will report hearing a ghostly voice, rising from the earth like the vengeful dead. But while the source of the voice is indeed vengeful, they're no ghost. At least, not yet. Rather they've simply been... forgotten. Purposefully forgotten, for these hellish corners are the stalking grounds of Giali. Once, Giali's face was a welcome one, and his name was not something spoken in whispers and hateful spits. Once, he was a scholar, a pursuer of knowledge. A pursuer of light. Although he hailed from the Shifting Expanse, he felt quite at home among the Sunbeam Ruins, fitting in well with others of his kind, taking his place as the clan's Historian and Scribe. Every day was a day filled with writing, with discovery, and by the time he was fully grown he had mastered the art of wordplay, and although he was still somewhat of an oddity among the clan's many warriors and hunters, his name was a respected one, even from the mouth of clan's Matriarch. The quill was his sword, the parchment his battlefield, and with his lightning-like wit and skillful maw, there wasn't a creature or being in Sornieth he could not immacutely render in text. And then, one day, something strange happened to him. His words inexplicably failed him. His quill betrayed him. His mind seized and sputtered. For the first time in his life, he encountered something indescribable: he fell in love.
