"Oh? So this is the other clan that they spoke of?" he muttered to himself as he scanned the area with piqued interest. He had followed the dragon that he assumed to be their messenger into this lair, knowing full well that if he stuck around, he was just going to be sold elsewhere. Might as well make himself comfy in a place where he knew he wasn't going to be exalted, right?
Besides, having to endlessly fight for one's deity sounded like he would not have any time to write at all. Yes, Maximilian had recently gotten himself into stories, but not just any kind - he would only let his quill dance on the paper for romance! Yes, for the burning passion of love!
And what could be more exciting than staying in a lair who had a number of long distance relationships with his previous clan? How exciting! He hoped that the interactions he could observe here would be able to inspire him to write even more than before. It wasn't like he was doing much back in his old clan, filled to the brim with pretty boys and luscious silks (that was probably the likely effect of having so many male Coatls sauntering there). He used to be one of the hunters there, chasing after prey as best as he could, but he wasn't cut out for it. It wasn't like he wasn't pampered like all the other male Coatls, but he felt that his calling was elsewhere.
He hoped that he would like it here too. There seemed to be many dragons that were interested in reading and storytelling, but none of them inclined for the romantic! Surely he could teach these dragons a thing or two about good taste. Yes, that is exactly what he would do.
