Sain the Witch Hunter

"But screw your courage to the sticking place, and we'll not fail."

A nocturne with an overdeveloped sense of vengeance, Sain is the finest witch hunter this side of Sornieth. Her title, although accurate, is a bit too general: she does not only hunt witches, but also demons, those possessed by the Shade, and anyone or anything else that abuses magic. This sometimes causes issues, as (to herself) she is the sole judge of where the line of abusing magic is drawn. Influenced by her own prejudices, she believes that misuse occurs whenever anyone is harmed by magic, regardless of the circumstance or ultimate goal of the incantation. She caries concealed daggers in order to perform her work, and their blades have the property of nullifying magic, including protective charms.

She bears an interesting curse, and one that appears to have no remedy. Whenever the sun rises, she turns to stone, and is not revived to her previous state until it sets at night. This condition effects her even when she is not directly exposed to the sun's rays, and regardless of what countermeasures she takes. She was cursed in an effort to save her sister, Taire, who was to be sacrificed for the sake of a charm. Sain refuses to reveal much information about this part of her past, but it is clear that on some level she holds herself accountable, and she very well may have been.

Sain is a very pious dragon, but to which god it is unclear. Perhaps it is to all of them she prays, or to something else entirely.

Sain's journey took her to the Clan of Death where a Shade- touched dragon resided. While the mirror didn't appear to be much of a threat to other dragons she was determined to rid the clan- and Sornieth- from the monstrosity before a problem developed. Of course, while the other dragons knew of her job Sain didn't outright tell them she was there to kill off the danger in their ranks. And so she tried. However, she waited too long while making the perfect plan and learning about her enemy and soon the Shade corrupted mirror was leaving the clan. That meant it was time for Sain to go as well to find her newest target and any others that appeared.
