Kanani
Scholar of Ancient Civilizations
(and maybe queen of the world but that's a technicality) Books are expensive. So are travelling and research. Kanani found her lifelong dream of being the foremost scholar in Ancient Civilizations somewhat stymied by the fact that she was very much not wealthy, and most clans seemed to think that as a beautiful Wildclaw what she really ought to do is settle down, have lots of hatchlings, and maybe hit things in the Coliseum if she's lucky. Since she could've just gone to the Flameforger if she'd wanted to hit things, she was not keen on the compromise. As she continued looking for a clan that would support her research, a sprite approached her and said that if, as the most beautiful wryma in the world (or close enough that a certain young drake wouldn't know any better) she wanted to become the mate of the richest drake in the world, it (that is, the sprite) would be very much obliged. The sprite was actually very surprised when she said she'd give it a shot, but it wasn't complaining. Certain events later, Kanani not only had the unending gratitude of said richest drake for saving his idiot tailfeathers from the consequences of his own arrogance, but she also had a mate who adored her and wanted nothing more than to give her expensive presents and enjoy his wealth together. Once she had clarified that said presents would include plenty of books and travel opportunities in exchange for putting up with his ridiculous smugness over having her as his mate, she was perfectly ready to settle down with Erik, particularly as she had grown rather fond of him-- idiocy, arrogance, and all. |
