Hyperion is the ambassador of the clan, and will often go on long journeys across the lands to communicate with clans of all flights. While some ambassadors find permanent homes in foreign clans, Hyperion prefers to stay for a few moons before returning to the Sunbeam Ruins, to be with his family. He is a skilled conversationalist, but does not trust people easily. However, once the initial barriers have been broken down, Hyperion is fascinated by other people's perceptions of the world, and will often spend long hours discussing and debating even the most humble of topics. Being so interested in natural philosophy, Hyperion spends much of his spare time with Radiance and Blaze, both of whom he considers to be his soul-mates, although he refrains from voicing such strong sentiments around others. n recent times, Hyperion has found it harder and harder to leave the clan to go on his journeys- very often, he will have to travel for many moons, and his heart becomes weary without his loved ones near. Nevertheless, the excitement of meeting new dragons and the wonder that Hyperion feels at the privilege of being witness to rare sights motivates him to continue his duty. He often says, both to himself and others, that being away for so long 'makes the moments we are together so much more precious to me'.

During his long flights to other clans, the strong glare of the sun bleached his feathers, leading to his pale yellow tones. In more recent times, the strain of his journeys have resulted in his wing-feathers fading into white, although he patiently reassures others that he is in perfect health, and has never felt better. He will return from his flights with his feathers ruffled and with an empty belly, but will tell the clan wondrous tales, eyes shining, while Radiance and Blaze fuss about him. Young hatchlings are often awe-struck by Hyperion's stories and inspired to travel far and wide, some even being driven to join the Lightweaver as they explore the world beyond the clan. Hyperion will give these younger dragons advice on how to make their way and will see them off as they fly away from the Sunbeam Ruins.
Some of Hyperion's tales have become clan favourites: these stories vary from seas that look like they were made of broken glass and precious jewels, dragons with many heads, and huge skeletal remains spanning leagues and leagues across. Every solstice, Hyperion will gather with all of the other dragons in the clan, and many other clans nearby, to exchange fables and stories. Illuminated by fire-flies and the occasional burst of flame from the younger, more enthusiastic listeners, he will weave tales until the first beams of the sun casts its rays over the endless horizon.
