Nobody really remembers when Golda came to the clan save Tiemeth and Kovin, and nobody wants to ask them. The founders are closer to her than they are any other dragon in the clan, and everyone takes it for granted that she's their second. There's more interesting gossip than things everyone already knows.

Not that there's much to gossip about Golda. The clan doesn't know much about her life before she came to Oktir-nath, and she obviously prefers it that way, staring down adults when they ask and baiting hatchlings with fantastical stories that can't be true. Probably. Her fighting prowess makes that more of an open question than many are comfortable with.

Only Kovin and Tiemeth know much of the truth - that she came from a clan where mates are arranged for political reasons, and when Golda refused hers, she was banished. Fighting in the wilderness made her tough, and it took a long time for Kovin and Tiemeth to break down the walls she had built. Now, she nests with Kovin and Tiemeth, a quiet third in their relationship. The clan knows at least that much, despite the clan leaders' reticence on the subject. There's a different sort of light in Del's eyes when she fights with them, or when they're hurt, that never appears when she interacts with the rest of the clan. Hatchlings ask their parents what it means, and they just respond, "You'll understand when you're older."

When she's not fighting or running the clan, she's often to be found at the market menacing traders into favorable deals with Amline. Her mean looks also serve as great publicity for her training service, earning her a reputation for being a hard but efficient teacher.
