Biography
Fisher of tribe
swaggiep34
Runesceptre sighed, looking out into the sunset. The countless oceans and mountains in the distance seemed to be calling for her to come and explore. She glared at the horizon, as if angry for not being allowed to explore. Who knew how many fascinating creatures could be in those glorious, snow-capped crags? Who knew how many stories would be told of her if she ventured out into those wonders? Runesceptre's parents would never be able to ignore her again. And all those dragons that teased her for being a fisherman would be sorry they ever turned their backs on a future hero.
........................................................................................................................................................................................
Runesceptre covered her head with her wings. "Hey, look," said a dragon smugly. "It's fishbreath." Gem, who had been following Hercules (the dragon's name) around recently, laughed like it was the funniest thing in the world. "Yeah, fishbreath," she echoed, all the while eyeing Hercules dreamily. Runesceptre cringed and tucked her tail around herself. She could hear Gem cooing as the two walked away.
Runesceptre waited until she knew that the dragons were gone. Then she slowly poked her head out from under her wings. Being the only female fisher, she was often made fun of. She didn't take it personally that nobody understood her. Runesceptre knew she was just a hard dragon to understand. Even her parents didn't seem to care whether she lived or died. It was Runesceptre's sisters that got all the attention, the compliments and praise. They had jobs that paid well. They lived in beautiful bamboo villas with hammocks in every corner. Runesceptre lived in a hut made of hay and straw. It was cozy, though, and quite sturdy. Runesceptre had built it herself. The only fancy thing that she owned was a blue and white porcelain vase with the Windsinger painted on it.
Runesceptre sighed. If only her parents paid attention to her, just once....
........................................................................................................................................................................................
20 years later
It had been years since Runesceptre was last exploring in the wilderness.
Sure, the mountains and babbling brooks were beautiful. There were so many new flowers, new sights to take in. But eventually Runesceptre found herself feeling homesick. So she returned to the Wind territory. And she was glad.
After all, this was home.
