lexa grew up in a clan of warriors. her egg got stolen whilest a looting and claimed by the leader, a harsh female ridgeback. she didn't had children of her own, which made lexa her only kid and the next in succession of leading. from the day of her birth she was trained for this. when the time finally came and she had to bury her mom, she didn't hesitate and took the reins. there was no time for grieving, not only because there would be a big fight soon, but also any kind of weakness was inacceptable in her clan.
so she became the chief, and led her clan into many successful fights and lootings. lexa was respected and kind of loved by the members of her clan, seeing a double of her mom in her. she had the perfect life, until one day.
they came across a small wind clan. seeing the perfect target, lexa gave the commands to attack. when the peaceful dragons were surrounded by lexa and her cruel companions, lexa was about to speak when a female tundra broke out of the crowd.
lexa was mad at first and about to get rid of the rude thing, when she stopped. it was like looking into the water and seeing your reflection. she was confused, hesitated. her clan members started mumbling, they were getting impatient. "you're my daughter!", the tundra shouted, tears of joy running down in her thick fur. "that's impossible. my mother is dead.", lexa replied, to which the tundra shook her head. "no, look, you look exactly like me, and you're a wind dragon as well! one of my eggs got stolen whilest a robbery and-" - "shut up!", a member of lexas clan hissed and threatened to attack the tundra, but lexa told them to stop. "wait. i want to hear what she has to say." - "it doesn't matter! who cares! you're one of us now!", was the answer. lexa growled. "are you disobeying?", she asked quietly and the other one growled as well. "hm, yes, maybe i am?" lexa was torn between giving in her clans hunger for blood and her curiosity about what the tundra had to say. but she didn't have time to choose. the member of her clan attacked the tundra in front of lexa, ending her life quickly. lexa was furious. "GET THEM!", she shouted at the members of her clan, pointing at the rebel. no one moved. lexa growled, repeated her order. instead of doing what she said, her clan started to scale down the circle around the wind clan, pushing lexa out of their place and in the crowd of shivering dragons. seconds afterwards they attacked. lexa was injured badly during the battle, left behind in the end to bleed to death. none of the wind dragons survived and lexa was sure she would join them soon. then she heard loud steps from multiple dragons, coming closer.
"poor things..", a voice whispered. "they're all dead.", another one said sadly. "no!", the first voice shouted and a snapper with light eyes bent over her. "this one's alive!" - "let's take her to toby, hopefully he can help her!", a third voice added hectically and lexa was lifted. seconds later she fainted.
and this is the story of how lexa found her way to the clan.
lexa kept her harsh and unfriendly attitude at first, always putting up a false front. but slowly as surely her facade started crumbling. the dragons in this clan, treating her friendly, giving her food and shelter, changed her view of the world. she started to question the way her previous clan lived, was disgusted by her own actions.
nowadays lexa is still very serious and has a hard time showing emotions, but she's respectful towards other members of the clan and does her job as guard well. she doesn't attack if she doesn't have to and its harder to provoke her now. she likes being on her own alot, wandering through the woods. the memories of her old clan and what happened slowly faded away, only leaving a dislike of the smell of blood behind.
