Mervin set off from the Sunbeam Ruins while still a hatchling searching for a new place to call home. He arrived at the BlueFox Lair while it was hosting dragons that were traveling to serve the Arcanist. While he had no interest in serving a deity he found the labs of the clan quite fascinating. The study of magic that the clan conducts made him curious and he decided to stay and help with the studies.

Having no formal training in scientific study he started work as a lab assistant to whoever needed the extra help. Working as an assistant has allowed him to learn the ropes. He is content to remain working as an assistant since he hasn't found one particular field that interest him. While filing some of the paperwork he had found that the organization of research notes was non-existent and took it upon himself to get things organized. In his free time he enjoys the a good mystery story to read.
