One day, the necromancer Reve was alone. The next day, Lani seemed to just suddenly exist.

Nobody knows where Lani came from aside from Reve and, of course, Lani herself. When she first appeared at the lair by Reve's side, she had beautiful, glossy black skin and gorgeous crimson feathers. Yet, as time went by, she seemed to lose her feathers as if they were being plucked day by day from her, and those that remained lost their colour. Her glossy black coat seemed to disappear and her mate was clearly using her in his experiments, borrowing parts of Lani here and there. Now Lani is a shadow of what she once was, and yet despite this she doesn't seem to care at all. A macabre vision of a Skydancer to be sure, but Lani seems very content with her life.

As the self-proclaimed "bone mistress" Lani has taken it upon herself to care for all of Reve's creations of varying shapes and sizes. She is almost always accompanied by one or two little pets or familiars scampering at her feet, and she acts more like a mother to them than an owner. Indeed, Lani seems incredibly fond of all of them, and cares for the little things like they were her children.

Rumours claim that Lani was a scout for a different lair, brainwashed by the necromancer in an unfortunate turn of events and made to be his mate. Yet, other rumours still claim that Lani was always Reve's mate and she simply stayed away from him while he tried to get them a permanent home.

Lani doesn't care for any of the rumours and, when asked, simply responds with a question of her own: "Does it matter?" So it is, all that is known about Lani is all that you can see and all that she is willing to tell; she is as apt for magic as her mate but much prefers to oversee the care of creations rather than make her own.

Lani seems to be very aware of Reve's penchant for talking about her like she's a belonging of his rather than a dragon of her own. Lani also doesn't seem to care; she loves Reve very deeply and has no problem in letting such things be known if anybody were to ever ask her. Reve is simply Reve, and if he was any different, Lani wouldn't love him the way she does. Her loyalty to her partner is equivalent to that of an immovable object, and nothing the necromancer does will ever change her level of devotion to him.

As for the Construct, the only other 'dragon' that Lani gets to interact with on any real basis, Lani ironically treats it less like a creature and more like a thing. She doesn't dote on it the way she dotes on smaller creations and, if anything, Lani seems almost uncaring towards the Construct. Unlike Reve, however, she does seem to recognise Satanael as a "he" instead of an "it" - although that is about the only grace she seems to afford the sorry thing on any given basis.
