Aria is quite an aloof character. She doesn’t waste words - if they aren’t necessary, then she doesn’t deign to speak. She is very fussy about her feathers - she spends a lot of her day preening, and making sure every single feather is exactly where it’s supposed to be. She is skeptical and sarcastic of most things, and not particularly fond of hatchlings, either. (But at least she’s not big enough to squash them underfoot - if she could, she would.) The tiny little critters are whiny and bratty and stink to high heavens of that ridiculously disgusting hatchling smell. Seriously, who decided hatchlings were cute? They most decidedly are not.

Her kitchen is her life’s work, and her greatest love. If you want to find Aria (but seriously, who but her underlings wants to find Aria?) that is where she’ll be, for all but precious few hours when she sleeps (Hatchlings speculate that she doesn’t actually sleep, and is an undead being sent to pick them off, one by one.) She is a total perfectionist, and that extends to the kitchen. She expects her chefs to be swift and precise, and they are sentenced to clean up duty with the apprentices if they get even one thing wrong.

If Aria was able to feel enough to have favourites, it would be her sous chef, Halimeda. Despite her problems outside of the kitchen, she always leaves them at the entrance, and is a total professional from the moment she dons her apron. It is a quality Aria admires, and wishes all her staff could do that. Unfortunately, they don’t. And it always makes her irritable. (She curls her lip at them, and they know that they are being far too emotional whilst working.) The only emotion she allows in the kitchen is passion for their cooking. If you don’t have that passion for cooking, you’ll be out on your backside in minutes.

Most of the dragons in the clan are a little bit wary of Aria’s beady eye and sharp talons. (Because they really are. Very sharp. Avoid them at all costs. She sharpens them on a rock, I swear.) They do not want to get on her bad side. Where justice is due, she will exact vengeance. Fear her wrath. Let it not be said, however, that she is selfish, or unfair. Where she thinks it necessary, she is a very fierce advocate of what she believes in. (Hence, Skydancers generally get their way more than any other breed in the clan, besides the Spirals - the sheer weight of their numbers often gets their way.)
