Measles arrived not long after Pox, and although he was holding himself up fairly well the Pearlcatcher missed the companionship of other dragons - and perhaps a mate.

Both he has found within Hybras. The two are an inseparable pair now, sharing a sleeping and a working tent. Measles is a as much of a loving and enthusiastic stepfather to Pox' three children as she could wish for.
Their talents complement each other, earning regular praise from Linnet. Without the two they would have far fewer hatchlings and much more difficult births within the Plague lands. Measles can't help but smile whenever the clan leader rants on about how both of them are making the clan so much stronger and how they are irreplaceable for their survival.

He smiles because each word of Linnet proves his old clan wrong. The clan that cast him out because he was considered less than useful - a burden. Despite his status as a talented witchdoctor-in-training all it took was one injury and an infection that had left him with a bad hindleg before he could find the proper herbs to help his condition. A lame dragon was 'slow'. A lame dragon 'has no place in a strong clan'. Nevermind that he had wings. Nevermind that he was their only potential healer.

The blistered lands of the Plaguebringer had been harsh, yet rewarding teachers to his budding talents, and fueled by sheer spite the Pearlcatcher made it his mission to survive when they thought he could not. And so, when he finally arrived in Hybras his skills were unmatched.

Sometimes he thinks back to his old leaders, and he hopes that each scratch they get prompts a painful infection, so that they will never again disrespect a healer.
