Gabriel was not always a dragon. In fact, until recently, he was the king of a secret, dying race that lived under the radar of creatures called humans. Gabriel reigned for many ages and brought great sorrow to his race, but he had mellowed somewhat by the end of his reign. In his last few centuries of life, he ruled with a just and compassionate hand. He enjoyed reading, writing poetry, and being around children. He even adopted orphaned children to raise as his own; though he made mistakes, he was a good father. Many would not say the same about his kingship.

As a dragon, Gabriel is severe and fierce when the clan is threatened, but he has a gentle and caring heart. He has always been a superb healer, and he puts those skills to use as a dragon; Gabriel is perhaps the best at sensing and fixing what is ailing a dragon, whether it be an injury of the flesh or of the mind. When he is not busy healing, Gabriel enjoys watching the hatchlings and telling them stories of his own imagination. He wears a crown but he is no longer king, and he is glad that the weight of leadership is no longer on his shoulders.
