The Mirror-Mimic
I told you. A shooting star... Explorer is making a pest of herself between border patrol sessions, haranguing everyone within earshot with her personal interpretation of where the Arcane warp has come from and why the meteor crossed over them. Hostile talanok who live in the stars seems to be her favorite theory, though attack by another clan or the return of undertides who flew all the way up into the aether are not far behind. * Explorer is not at all bothered that her favorite interpretations appear to be wrong, not when she can interrogate Tarandrus's guest about all the strange rumors she's gathered... though she has made the occasional pointed question of if the aether is somehow a talanok. * Explorer has taken off for Greenskeeper Gathering, enjoying a chance to celebrate in other Flights. She veers between Nature and Plague, the former for having the best overall celebrations, the latter because they have made a game of flinging pestilence down on the growth that expands from the Seedscar every festival. She keeps her ears open for new rumors all the while. |

An indiscriminate collector of information, Explorer is an excellent source of facts, rumors, and mythology, as long as one does not mind them being bundled together. Her more peculiar beliefs include the existence and sinister infiltration of a creature from nocturne mythology called a "doppelgänger", a fear of flying on nights that include both a full moon and Arcane dominance, and that steelhounds and scrapmetal trackers escort the souls of the dead. Aside from her somewhat haphazard spying, Explorer is a scavenger and hunter. A quick and skillful flier and an able runner, she is quite at home in all three of the wastelands that Cindercone has called home. She is one of several links the clan has to their old allies in the borderlands, and her most reliable information concerns the movements of wild mirror packs in the Boneyard. While deeply loyal to the clan, Explorer's relationships with other dragons are often strained or strange, ranging from her hero-worship of Elkrekeodh and Hiirkaen to her outright revilement of Ithiliisahn. She seems finally to have come around to Sprucetip. She is endlessly pleased at having been proved right about Kellinlii, but is firmly in the camp that the tundra is a force for good for their clan. Disease Explorer is covered in a luxuriant carpet of mottled green mold. The mold is fairly harmless, though its spores can serve as a respiratory irritant to Water, Nature, and Shadow dragons. She also has a growth of greasy white feathers across her wings and tipping her head and tail, though whether this is truly a pathology is unclear. Craft Explorer makes all manner of charms and wards out of metal and bone and colorful bits of material. She can imitate a wide variety of styles she swears work, but the evidence for many is decidedly lacking. Physical description Explorer is a small, powerfully-built nocturne. Her hide is covered in electric-green mold, and oily white feathers adorn her wings and head. Some of the fungus appears to be luminescent, though only when Shadow energy is particularly high, and on rare occasions she appears to glitter. She walks and runs on all-fours with much of the efficiency of a mirror, and has an extremely fast, direct flight like a falcon. She smells overpoweringly of mushrooms and feather oil. Combat Explorer enjoys fighting, though she spends most of her time away from the rest of the clan and has thus never found a proper team. She sometimes fights alongside Hedysara, but their styles do not match well. |

Origin Explorer was hatched in the Abiding Boneyard. She fell in with the wild mirrors there, imitating their habits and mannerisms. Her hatching-clan eventually found her, and sent her to Cindercone as a prize. Initially furious to be taken from her home, Explorer found that Elkrekeodh and Hiirkaen were very much like the wild mirrors she had befriended before, and took to them quickly. She was uncomfortable with Sprucetip, however, seeing the tundra's gem genes and battle prowess as incongruous with her breed, and her colors far too close to Explorer's own. Explorer had one of the smoothest crossings, as a stubbornly independent dragon of medium size and vigor. Having never been particularly settled in Fire Flight, she was also one of the first to regain her feet in Derecho Canyon. During her first Night of the Nocturne, Explorer appeared extremely energized. She disappeared for several days, and was noticeably calmer when she returned. A few rumors suggest she fought a mysterious skydancer, but questions regarding this elicit nothing but a rattling noise of irritation. |

Kin Explorer's ancestry is unrecorded beyond her parents, though she has several siblings, most of whom are Exalted. She has lost track of her family, and seems to have little interest in catching up with them. |
